Pushkin or Tsar's village

Highlights:

· Enjoy walking along Catherine park

· Visit to Catherine Palace and be impressed by the Amber room

Food/ Beverage: No

We offer you to make an unforgettable journey to the town of Pushkin where the Tsars' main ex-summer residence.

The tour begins in the lobby of your hotel and together we start our exploration of the magnificent St.Petersburg.

This 5 hours tour from St. Petersburg takes you on an unforgettable journey to the towns of Pushkin and Pavlosk to visit former tsar's summer residences. The historic palaces are especially charming in the wintertime!

In Pushkin, you will walk through the enchanting Catherine Park to Tsarskoye Selo, the Catherine Palace. You will tour the Catherine Palace to see the iconic ballroom and impressive Amber Room, which was completely restored after World War II. The grand palace façades are stunning and sure to leave an impression.

If on leaving the palace you wish to see the parks of Tsarskoe Selo, you must either go on foot, through the Church entrance into the garden, or, if you prefer driving round the Church Wing under the Lyceum, pass through the first park gate, which is near a small fountain, having the form of a swan. A marble staircase leads from the drive to an avenue, which runs along the palace. In this avenue, opposite the center of the Palace, stands a bronze model of the monument of the Empress Catherine the Great at St. Petersburg. Here begins the central avenue leading to the Hermitage. During the reigns of Peter and Elizabeth, a Dutch Garden was stretching along both sides of this avenue, but under Catherine II it was transformed into an English Park. It goes, sloping from the palace to the canal, and is divided into two parts by the broad Generalsky Avenue. On the first slope near the palace, besides clipped alleys, during the first half of the 18th century, there used to be elegant arbors, galleries, shrubberies, and trellis work.

At the culmination of the tour we will take you back to the hotel or to any other place in the city centre.

Yusupov Palace

Highlights:

· Visit famous Moyka Palace - House of Prince Yusupov

· Learn about on of the most mystic death - the murder of Rasputin

· Wonder beautiful interiors of the palace

Food/ Beverage: No

On a quiet stretch of the Moika River stands a long yellow building, which was once the residence of the wealthy and respected Yusupov family and which saw one of the most dramatic episodes in Russia's history - the murder of Grigory Rasputin.

The tour begins in the Palace where together we start our exploration of the magnificent Palace on Moyka river.

The palace is most famous, however, because of the actions of its last prince Felix Yusupov. The exact events surrounding Rasputin's death are much in dispute.

The story, according to Yusupov, is that on the night of December 16, 1916 he, along with Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich of the House of Romanov, invited Grigori Rasputin to the Moika Palace. Supposedly, they served Rasputin cakes and red wine laced with cyanide—supposedly enough poison to kill five men.

Concerned that Rasputin appeared unaffected, Yusupov retrieved a gun and shot Rasputin in the back. Taking him for dead, the party prepared to leave. Yusupov returned a short while later to find Rasputin still alive. He and his conspirators shot Rasputin, at close range, three more times, but Rasputin was still attempting to stand back up and flee. Desperate they clubbed Rasputin in the head repeatedly with an iron bar, wrapped him in a blanket, walked outside and tossed him into the Moika River. His autopsy supposedly found that neither the poison, nor the multiple gunshot wounds, nor the clubbing caused his death—instead he died of hypothermia. Much of the account, from Yusupov, is considered implausible.
